rose-gold slime, about eight feet of it, with one core somewhere in there running the whole thing.
“slime” is a bit misleading tho - she’s not goopy, she’s fairly solid. she doesn’t drip on your floor.
what’s not in there
no cells. no DNA. no blood, no bones, no organs.
she doesn’t breathe and never has to.
no eyelids, so she never blinks. no normal lips or ears either.
albeit her eyes aren’t like just constant O’s - she more just manipulates the shape of her eyes.
she can intentionally pretend to blink if she wants to for some reason.
her face is something she built. she practiced it until people could read it. it works fine, it’s just a thing she’s doing on purpose rather than actual anatomy - like, she’s figured out over a while just enough to avoid triggering the uncanny valley.
no taste. no smell. like, at all, not “kinda weak”.
she still eats and drinks sometimes (not plain water). does absolutely nothing for her. she does it bc somebody cooked and sitting there not eating would be weird.
squishing
she is not a shapeshifter. she can’t turn into a bird or wear your face.
what she does is give. shove her at a gap and she goes through it, squashed, then stands back up on the other side. she can come out of an oven door and unfold into a whole person standing in your kitchen.
other stuff she does with it:
- extra hands. happens when she’s relaxed. roughly one per thing she’s saying.
- height. she gets taller or shorter depending on if she’s currently the host, the guest, the scary one, or the one trying very hard not to be scary. mostly not on purpose.
- symmetry. in public she keeps two arms and stands like a person. in private she stops bothering.
if she’s holding a rigid perfectly-humanoid shape and not moving, that’s usually not her being relaxed. that’s her being careful.
fire
completely immune. not resistant, immune. she can go sit in a furnace and be fine.
she can also travel through fire, which is a whole thing on its own: fire travel
water
ok so this is the actual problem.
direct liquid water hurts her badly. not “uncomfortable”. a garden hose is a weapon.
rain, a river, a burst pipe, a sprinkler going off. all real threats, and all extremely mundane, which is kinda the point? you don’t need to invent a bigger monster to put her in danger. you need a wet floor.
poison
she’s really toxic. if any real amount of her gets inside something alive, that thing is done.
it’s got a whole thing going on, it gets its own page: reverse rejection
so she’s careful. and the careful is a choice she keeps making, not evidence that she’s secretly harmless and cuddly.
she also does not conduct electricity at all, which is occasionally handy and mostly just a fact.
what scares her
getting reduced down to just the core.
stuck, can barely talk, can’t see properly, can’t move, completely dependent on whoever happens to be standing there. and then possibly getting picked up, carried off, stuck in a box, and looked at.
killing her permanently is genuinely hard. leaving her helpless is not.
